In 2015, the KIZHI museum-reserve is one of the official partners of ‘Trans-Onego’ International Winter Kite-Marathon. This event is held in the city of Petrozavodsk since 2012. Champions of Russia and prize-winners of World Cup Stages come here to challenge their ability to control the wing on the ice.
The KIZHI museum-reserve is one of the largest open-air museums in Russia. The World Heritage Site of UNESCO, Kizhi architectural ensemble is the core of the museum’s collection. It was chosen one of the 10 symbols of Russia by the people’s voting.
In addition to activities in culture, science, education and public life, the museum supports sports and healthy lifestyle.
On the 7th of June, 2014, the finals of Russia’s Cup in Skydiving were held on Kizhi. 42 Russia’s top-sportsmen participated in the precise landing competition; some of them were people with disabilities. phe finals of Russia’s Open Cup in archery were held on Kizhi on the 21st of June, 2014. The KIZHI museum supported new Karelian Federation of Archery which is less than a year old. About 500 people had a chance to enjoy a very accurate archery of the finalists.
Kizhi is also the location of the annual International Festival of Water Tourism ‘KIZHI Regatta’. Boat racing of traditional and modern boats is one of the events within the scope of this festival, with dozens of amateur sportsmen and hundreds of spectators.
In 2015, the KIZHI museum-reserve supports the annual ‘Trans-Onego’ International Winter Kite-Marathon. One of the stages will take place near the Kizhi Island. The participants who reach the check point first will be awarded some KIZHI museum souvenirs. |

If you have possibility to bring your own satellite tracker, for instance “Spot” http://www.findmespot.eu/en/ it would be very useful for arranging broadcast of the race and for safety reasons in addition to traditional TrackYou with GSM trackers which will be given to every team by organizers. If you already have satellite tracker please let us know in order to tune it into TOKE interface to test and if you like to follow your training and travel.
